Full-time UX Architect/Designer

at OCCU in Eugene, Oregon

As UX Architect, this role will lead the strategy, architecture, design and implementation of enhanced member experiences in all digital contexts to increase member loyalty and brand affinity. This position will work cross-functionally, pairing insights from business units with member insights, market & competitive research, persona characteristics, system usage data, and user and business objectives. Success for this role entails increasing our member loyalty and meeting business objectives via improved member experiences.

• Work cross functionally to understand the organization’s vision, mission, values, members, services, and business practices to help deliver on OCCU’s brand promise through exceptional member experiences.
• Further our member insights to continuously build on persona and life stage findings, using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods. Based on discoveries, recommend opportunities for improved experiences, exploring scopes of possible options and then validating solutions.
• Develop and implement user-centered design processes that align with OCCU’s Member Experience Philosophy. Collaborate with project teams to educate and infuse process into existing implementation processes.
• Lead analysis of experiences through the lens of User Experience Principles; usable, useful, findable, valuable, credible, desirable and accessible.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the organization to lead customer journey mapping and empathy mapping workshops, and formulate workshop discoveries into recommendations.
• Conduct conceptual and usability testing sessions and member focus groups to garner member insights on new developments or concept prototypes.
• Lead creation of site maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, interaction design pattern libraries, style guides and other design artifacts.
• Collaborate on content strategy with an emphasis on information architecture, content structure, and user flows.
• Work collaboratively with business unit stakeholders and Operations staff to communicate Marketing initiatives.
• Manage the project deliverables and timelines with agency and vendor partners.
• Partner with the Director of Marketing in management of UX strategy initiatives including user research, customer journey mapping, customer experience, user experience, and other areas.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence to mine, validate, and analyze research findings.
• Plan and design for post-launch measurement and analysis of system usage data.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Managers, Technology and vendor partners to see design through to final tactical launch of digital experiences, ensuring alignment of envisioned user experience through to execution.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Communications and Organizational Development to educate internal and external users of the changes to the digital experiences.
• Continuously learn about changes in the digital experience landscape, with the goal of finding new ways to improve the member experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
