Full-time UI/UX Designer

at novi AMS in Southeast U.S.

novi AMS is looking for a full-time UI/UX Designer with strong graphic and user interface design ability to join our team.

We are a fundamentally different approach to association management software. Born out of the collaboration between association executives and a software development team with extensive experience serving as volunteer leaders within associations, the project has had one goal since the start – build an association management system that “just works.”

We believe that:

  • Our customers should love using our software.
  • Our customers should be an integral a part of the creative process.
  • Empathy is a sign of strength, not weakness.
  • A modern day artist has to master HTML & CSS just like da Vinci mastered his brush.
  • The best ideas rise to the top when true collaboration is fostered.
  • Making an impact are more important than job titles and corporate bureaucracy.
  • Great teammates are inspired and inspire others.
  • A problem is the kernel of innovation.
  • The digital space is a malleable canvas that allows for constant improvement.
  • Learning is a daily activity, and teaching is a daily obligation.

  • For this position, we’re looking for candidates anywhere in the Southeast U.S.
  • We are not accepting international candidates or candidates in the Pacific or Mountain time zones.
  • No calls or staffing firms, please.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities
  • You will have the opportunity to directly impact our brand as well as those of our clients.

This position requires a strong understanding of graphic design principles for the web, as well as a deep understanding of user interface design language and standards. We’re looking for someone who can provide a consistent look and feel to our application, relying on conventions, and also create something unique and appealing for the identity of our customers in the context of our CMS.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong graphic and user interface design ability including responsive and mobile design.
  • HTML and CSS fluency, Bootstrap or other CSS frameworks.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Strong collaboration skills with developers, customers and the business are essential.
  • Familiarity with basic SEO concepts.

Other qualifications:

  • Up-to-date on latest trends in front-end web design.
  • An understanding of branding and marketing.
  • Strong collaboration skills with developers, customers and the business are essential.
  • Experience with source control (Git, etc.), Javascript, Angular or other client-side frameworks is a huge plus, but not required.
  • Wordpress experience is also a bonus, but not a long-term need.
  • Experience working in an agile or scrum environment is a plus.

Please show us your portfolio, we’d love to see it. Send the links along with your resume. Being a design oriented position, it’s important that we see what you can do.
