Sure, we still do this, and are the best in the world at it, but today we have graduated to a company that uses this navigation as the engine to solve mission critical problems for our clients. Using a sailing analogy (we tend to do that a lot), we are sailing the Blue Ocean and are heading off to faraway destinations. Who you are

You are a recent grad seeking an innovative software company to drop your anchor. You want to be more hands-on in the early stages and you want your ideas to be heard and considered. You don’t want to have to wait years for it to be “your turn”. You are passionate about the user experience and you want to work on and with, a team that champions the end user.

The Role and the Goal

Listen, everyone loves the creative aspects. Trust us when we tell you, this role is going to be the envy of your peers. Not only will you have an opportunity to work with the coolest crew around, you will have the rare opportunity (for a new team member) to work with the UI from the early stages of the project. We are a rapidly scaling company and we are working some of the biggest names in the world - so that means following a process to ensure we don’t just meet but exceed expectations. Every time.

We need a UX Designer who can:

- Design. You will design intuitive interfaces, logical task work flows and responsive layouts.
- Create. You will create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Champion. You will be the end user champion, focusing on optimizing how our clients and their end users experience our products.
- Get it done. You will execute all stages of all visual design. From converting business ideas to functional design. From concept to final hand-off to engineering.
- Collaborate. You will work closely with the product management and development teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.
- Contribute. You will participate in brainstorming and planning meetings for new features and upgrades to existing features.

So, how do we know that's you?

- You have a post-secondary degree reflecting your training in UX design.
- You a couple of years experience applying an array of UX/UI skills to application and software design. - From creating wireframes and prototypes to visual designs based on customer requirements.
- You are open-minded, creative and flexible.
- You care deeply about the end-result and the end-user. You are motivated by creating an engaging experience.
- You learn fast and you are interested in evolving your position without limits and boxes.
- You have a strong understanding of UI and software design skills. You know Illustrator better than homescreen on your phone.
- You are analytical and can measure customer requirements against what is possible from a design perspective.
- You have amazing communication skills. You can explain design and layout choices and ideas to technical and non-technical audiences at any level.

We are pretty self-aware as a company and we know where we can do better:

Tough challenges ahead: We are in the process of transitioning from a Professional Services focus to a Product company. Let’s face it; it’s easier to sell when you can tell the customer that each job can be customized to suit their exact needs. While this sounds great in theory, unfortunately it doesn’t scale that well. We now have a robust platform that has defined features and functionality and are super disciplined about pouring our R&D dollars into the platform. This discipline does come with challenges and requires more rigour and planning from the entire crew.

Process: This ship is sailing at full speed and things can get hectic at times. Having a tight process will be what keeps the boat heeling just enough to keep our speed while keeping water out. We are counting on everyone to be agile and nimble as we grow.
